Nov 1 begins NaNoWriMo. The idea is write a novel, more then 50,000 words, in the month of November.
This my first time. I plan to blog it but most of my focus will be going to writing fiction in order to write a novel. ![]()
For those of you interested, feel free to add me as a friend and I will add you back. My user is afdafd which is my initials doubled. .
Recently, I launched a new fiction site to focus more on fiction writing. So this plays in nicely with that goal of sharing more of my fiction work with the world. As of now, I have only shared some poems and some one line stories, but I plan to expand upon this a lot in the future.
I went to a local NaNoWriMo meet up group (groups are formed on the website by geography) a couple days ago and it was great. I met some great people and got a cool temp tattoo and a couple cool stickers.
All in all it was a great experience. One of the guys made a great joke about how gas stations are fuel stops for your car, and write ins (where a bunch of writers go to write together) are held at coffee shops because it is a gas stop for humans – coffee.
Write ins are said to be one of the best aspects of this program. I am still debating whether or not to do them. They are held mostly at coffee and pastry places and I don’t drink coffee or tea or eat pastries. I also really like quiet and no disruptions when I write. I sometimes put on music but sometimes just want the quiet. I don’t know if I will like the idea of sitting around with distractions. But, if I don’t try it, I will never know.
So in just a few short hours, I will be writing up a storm. I look forward to finishing my third novel using this process and can’t wait to see the effects this has on my fiction writing.
That’s awesome, wish you the best!
Thanks Stephan
I am at 2152 words so far.. I am on track!
