Raw Food update 4

I caved and pounded down steamed carrots, steamed spinach, and steamed mushrooms.  I went 2 pounds of spinach in a day eating it steamed.  And I realized something…

Veggies

I don’t like raw veggies.  I love cooked veggies.  One of my favorite foods I used to eat pre raw days was veggie soup with leeks, carrots, celery, kale, spinach, onion, potato, garlic, beets, mushrooms, and sometimes lentils.  I called it bloody soup because it was always a deep red from the beets.  Before an unfortunate incident with the flu, I used to put broccoli and green beans in there too.

I think one of the reasons being raw for me has been so hard lately, is my body was craving veggies in the way it new how to get it, by cooked foods.

Over the past 3 weeks, the only veggie I ate was a couple sheets of nori, and a few florets of cauliflower, and spinach via smoothie.  Not nearly enough veggies.  So have restarted my 100 days, with juicing every day (or at least 6 days a week) where every juice has at least 1 veggie in it.  I drink about 16 ounces of juice.

Amazing, that every day, I am fighting making juice and drinking it, but I feel much better for doing so.  I eat a lot of non sweet fruits like tomatoes and avocado, but not enough green leafy veggies.

Where to now

So now I am back on raw, I ended up eating cooked veggies 4 times last week.  Devouring them like a starving person.

So now, I am back on day 1 (Sunday) of raw with juicing.  I am also looking into some recipes that use more greens..  100 days.. here I come.  :)
