Raw food trial: Day 30

Last day today!

Detox and Weight

Today i am at the same weight as yesterday for a total lose of 14.5 pounds since the start of this trial.

Food

For breakfast i had a strawberry banana smoothie.
Lunch i had raw tacos.. Yes, i have been craving these and eating these alot.  A bit later i had a taco salad.
Dinner, i had another taco salad, and an extra tomato. Yum.  I also had a peice of eggplant bacon.
I was not too hungry today which was a nice change.

Here comes lindsay’s entry!

Adrienne :)

Damn.  I made it.  It strange that tomorrow I’ll be able to eat anything I want.  I’m torn between  running out and getting all the things I’ve been craving and easing myself back into regular food.  As weird as it may sound I am still on the fence about where my eating habits will go from here.

Tonight Adrienne and I did some ridiculously fun food tests that ended up lasting over an hour…it was awesome.  We tested different foods to see how much our body liked them.  To conduct the test you hold an item in one hand and hold you other arm out, parallel to the floor,  and someone pushed down on it.  The easier your arm gives the less your body likes that food.  While I may not be explaining it very well, it is an awesome test and in the past I have found it’s results to be reliable.  Adrienne and I ended up testing 90% of what was in the kitchen, and laughed our asses off while doing it.  I was surprised at how my body reacted differently to different foods.  Some foods that I thought I would do great with and enjoy, didn’t fair so well in the test.  Meanwhile, some foods that I try to avoid because I don’t like them, my body seemed to adore.  There were others that apparently my body really likes, but I don’t eat that much of, so I am looking at increasing them in my diet.   One interesting point to mention is that despite the month of raw foods, my body still seems to be okay with meat and dairy.  We’re wondering if that’s so because it usually takes me longer to acclimate to new foods (as I tend to be a finicky and picky eater.).  Ultimately the results were fascinating and lead to further questions, which will be fun to look into.

Tomorrow, Adrienne and I will be doing final measurements in the morning, so I’ll report those then.  However, in reflecting back on this experience I can say that it was difficult, but worth it.  It was nice to try something new and to know that I could do it.  The final physical results aren’t in at this point, so I’ll refrain from saying much more at this point, but I will give a full breakdown tomorrow.

Oh, and I had the bananas, groats, walnuts, and cinnamon concoction this morning, and this time I remembered the cashew milk…it is much better with the milk.

For today’s joke, another interesting point:

During the initial space flights, Nasa discovered that biro pens didn’t work under zero gravity conditions. To beat the problem, Nasa spent 6 years and $2 million in designing a pen for use in space. The pen would work under zero gravity conditions due to the pressurized ink inside, it would work under sub zero conditions, underwater, on glass and virtually any surface known to man. The Russians used a pencil.

(I actually have one of those pens and they are freakin’ awesome:) )

Cheers,

Lindsay
